Title:
HEAT RESISTANT TRANSFER BELT AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE EQUIPPED THEREWITH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002123098
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a heat resistant transfer belt capable of realizing fixation on a condition that paper is still superposed on an intermediate transfer belt.

On the condition that the paper to whose both sides a toner image is transferred is still superposed on the belt 10, the toner image is fixed by fixing rollers 18 and 19. The belt 10 has two-layer structure consisting of base substance and a surface layer, and the volume resistance of an entire belt is 106 to 1012 Ω.cm. The base substance of the belt is polyimide-based heat resistance resin film and its thickness if ≥50 μm and ≤200 μm. The surface layer of the belt is a coating layer of Teflon(R) such as PFA or PTFE and the surface resistance of the surface layer is 108 to 1012 Ω/cm2. The thickness of the surface layer of the belt is ≤20 μm and the surface roughness (Rz) thereof is ≤10. Electronic conduction type material such as carbon or metallic oxide is mixed in the belt as a resistance control agent.
