Title:
HEAT-SENSITIVE PRINTING HEAD AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5757676
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain heat-sensitive printing head capable of assuring a good contact with heat-sensitive paper for a long term and providing clear printed characters at high efficiency, by a method wherein the surface of a metal film formed on an oxidation preventing film is recessed in accordance with the shape of a press roller and a wear-resistant film is formed thereon.

CONSTITUTION: A heat emitting resistance material 12, a lead 13 and an oxidation preventing film 14 are formed on an insulative substrate 11 in sequence and a metal film 15 such as Cr is formed thereon. A press roller is moved while pressing heatsensitive paper against the metal film 15. Upon this, the surface of the metal film 15 are deformed to provide the recessed form in accordance with the shape of the press roller. Then, a wear-resistant film 16 such as Ta2O5 is formed on a metal film 15' which will fit well to the heat-sensitive paper. With the wear-resistant film 16 being following to a recess of the metal film, the printing operation becomes hard to be subject to a change with the passage of time.
