Title:
HEAT-SENSITIVE TRANSFER MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59101391
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a heat-sensitive transfer medium capable of obtaining an image with high density and obtaining a transferred image with a uniform image density even when transferring multiple times, wherein a small quantity of a porous filler having an oil absorption of not less than a predetermined value is incorporated in a transfer layer comprising a leuco dye as a main constituent.

CONSTITUTION: The objective heat-sensitive transfer medium is provided with a transfer sheet which is provided with a transfer layer comprising a leuco dye (e.g., crystal violet lactone) as a main constituent and a receiving sheet which is provided with a receiving layer comprising a color developer (for example, n-butyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, a compound of the formula) for the dye as a main constituent, wherein a porous filler having an oil absorption of not less than 50ml/100g (e.g., particulates of silica) is incorporated in the transfer layer in a quantity of 0.01W1pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of the leuco dye. In addition, a binder such as PVA and a heat-fusible substance having a melting point of not higher than 150°C are ordinarily used jointly with the above components.

EFFECT: Fogging at development of color are prevented from occurring during production or preservation.
