PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-set type printing ink capable of heat-setting at low temperatures and giving excellently lustrous printed face, containing as a vehicle a nonaqueous dispersion prepared by polymerizing 9 vinyl monomer in a solution prepared by dissolving a resin in a solvent having a specific boiling point and containing a hydrocarbon solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-set type printing ink, obtained by including as a vehicle a nonaqueous dispersion of a polymer obtained by the polymerization of 20W 200pts.wt. (based on 100pts.wt. resin such as petroleum resin or modified rosin) vinyl monomers (e.g., a mixture of 30W70wt% styrene and 70W10wt% methyl methacrylate) in a solution of said resin dissolved in a solvent having a boiling point of 170°C or higher and containing a hydrocarbon solvent, e.g., a mixture of 50% or more undecane, dodecane, etc., and octyl alcohol, etc. is capable of heat-setting at lower temperatures than the conventional ones and giving excellently lustrous printed face.
