To provide a heat sink which is compact and has high heat dissipation characteristics.
The heat sink includes a base 10 and two or more fins 11 mounted on the base, and the fins 11 each has a width 22a at a part 22 close to a tip in a principal plane direction which is narrower than a width 21a at a base 21 in the principal plane direction. Therefore the speed of air circulated between fins becomes faster at the tip where resistance is small, and thereby the heat dissipation speed of the tip can be improved, so that the heat dissipation efficiency of the whole heat sink is improved. For example, a region of the tip of the fin 11 may be decreased continuously in width in the principal plane direction or may be of a shape like a straight line or curved line, growing narrow toward the tip.
