PURPOSE: To improve heat storage efficiency in an air conditioner, wherein heat is stored utilizing dump power except at a peak load, by repeatedly heating or cooling heat medium which is circulated by a circulation pump through a heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: In a heat storage device 100, there are disposed in a heat storage tank 1 a plurality of cylindrical heat storage vessels 3 of the water-sealed copper ampule type with part of each of the vessels being in contact with each other. And a cooler (evaporator) 5 and a heater (condenser) 7 are provided respectively adjacent to the top and the bottom of a group of the vessels 3 and a lower pipe 21 having an upward opening at its end is provided at the bottom of the tank 1 and the pipe 21 is connected to an upper pipe 25 having downwardly directed holes 31 through a conduit including therein a circulation pump 23. And during the time of heating (cooling), the heater 7 (cooler 5) is operated at night and the pump 23 is rotated normally (reversely) to heat (cool) the water in the vessels 3 by circulation of oil, thereby effecting heat storage.
