Abstract:

To provide a cold storage type air conditioner capable of performing delicate energy-saved operation responding to an air conditioning load resulted from air temperature or indoor environment, and an operation method thereof.

The air conditioner comprises a heat source device including first and second compressors 1 and 3, a four-way selector valve 4 switching a refrigerant circuit, an outdoor heat exchanger 5, and a first decompressor 6 decompressing refrigerant which flows into the heat exchanger 5; an air conditioning load device including indoor heat exchangers 8a and 8b performing heat exchange between indoor air and refrigerant and second decompressors 7a and 7b decompressing refrigerant which flows into the heat exchangers 8a and 8b; a heat storage device including a heat storage tank 11 storing a heat storage material having a melting point higher than 0°C and lower than 20°C, the heat storage material stored in the heat storage tank 11 and a cold storage heat exchanger 10 performing heat exchange between the heat storage material and the refrigerant. All or a part of the heat source device, the air conditioning load device and the heat storage device is connected by a refrigerant pipe through an on-off valve to constitute a refrigerating cycle circuit.
