To provide a heat storage type burner device and its operation method, which provide desired low NOx operation and reduce an operation cost only by adding a simple means.
The heat storage type burner device A comprises at least a pair of heat storage type burners 1a, 1b alternately burning and comprising heat storage bodies. Each heat storage type burner has a fuel line 13 with its tip formed as a fuel injection port 14, and a cooling passage 16 surrounding the fuel line 13. A cooling air lead-in port 17, and an inert gas lead-in port 18 utilizing the cooling air lead-in port are connected to the cooling passage 16, and inert gas such as nitrogen is led in from the inert gas lead-in port 18 when necessary. The formation of NOx exceeding a set value is thereby suppressed.
