This heat storage type combustion system comprises a heat storage type heat exchanger 1, exhaust heat is recovered in the heat storage material 2 of the heat storage type heat exchanger 1 from the exhaust when the combustion exhaust is discharged, and the heat is radiated from the heat storage material 2 of the heat storage type heat exchanger 1 to preheat air for combustion, when the air for combustion is supplied. A ceramic porous body 2a is mounted at a high temperature side where the exhaust flows in and the ceramic honeycomb 2b is mounted on a low temperature side as the heat storage material in a heat storage material storage space 3 formed in the heat storage type heat exchanger 1.
