Abstract:

PURPOSE: A heat-storing material that is made by adding sodium chloride and potassium chloride to the major component containing sodium sulfate decahydrate and sodium carbonate, thus being suitable for use in a passive solar house, because of its inexpensive and readily available raw materials, nontoxicity and noncombusting properties.

CONSTITUTION: A mixture of (A) sodium sulfate decahydrate and (B) sodium carbonate decahydrate at a molar ratio of, preferably 5/4W1/2, is combined with (C) sodium chloride and/or potassium chloride at a molar ratio of 0.95/0.05W 0.85/0.15 based on the total moles of components A and B to give the objective heat-storing material.
