PURPOSE: To allow a stable transfer operation by controlling the quantity of heat given to the transfer film from the transfer roll so that the heat quantity is always maintained within a predetermined range regardless of the roll surface temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A half-cylindrical heater 3 is provided in close adjacency to the surface of a transfer roll 1 rotatably supported at the end of a frame 2, and the quantity of heat from the heater 3 is controlled by a temperature control system A consisting of a temperature setting device 4, a temperature sensor 5 adapted to detect the surface temperature of the roll 1 and a temperature control circuit 6. The object to be transferred 7 is supported by a rotary jig 9, which is rotated by a driving unit 10, such that the transfer face 8 is opposed to the roll 1. The unit 10 for maintaining constant the rate of transfer from the transfer film 15 to the transferred face 8 is controlled by a rate control system B consisting of a rate setting device 11, a rate control circuit 12 and a rate sensor 13 which corrects the angular speed of the object 7. The temperature sensor 14 constantly detects the roll surface temperature immediately before transfer, and the detection values are input to the circuit 12. Also connected to the circuit 12 is a transfer rate correcting system C which corrects the transfer rate in accordance with the change of the surface temperature.
