Title:
HEAT TRANSFER RECEIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08156436
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize the favorable dot reproducibility and transferability even at high speed recording and obtain an image favorable in visibility and gradability by a method wherein the contact angle of the surface of the receiving layer of a heat transfer receiver to methylene iodide is set to be within a specified range.

CONSTITUTION: This heat transfer receiver is produced by covering at least one side of a base material with a receiving layer. The contact angle of the surface of the receiving layer to methylene iodide is preferably set to be not less than 10° and not more than 60°. The preferable smoothness of the surface of the receiving layer is 100sec or more. Thus, the transferability of ink becomes better and pinhole-like omission of printing becomes few and excellent surface glossiness and image visibility are obtained. Further, when the center-line mean roughness of the surface of the receiving layer is set to be 0.5μm or less, a heat transfer receiver, which has favorable heat transfer printability, dot reproducibility and ink transferability and excellent visibility and gradability, can be obtained.
