PURPOSE: To improve fixing properties of dye in a layer transferred, by making use of reactive dispersing dye possessing a specific reactive group.
CONSTITUTION: A heat transfer sheet possesses an ink layer containing reactive dispersing dye possessing a reactive group shown by formulas I-VIII (one of X, Y, Z represents C1 and the others represent -OCH3) for heat transfer to a transfer medium possessing a layer transferred containing a low molecular weight compound possessing an active hydrogen group. The transfer medium possesses the layer transferred containing the low molecular weight compound possessing activated hydrogen group for heat transfer from the heat transfer sheet. The heat transfer is performed by making use of the heat transfer sheet and transfer medium which are formed like this. In other words, the heat transfer is performed by transferring the reuctive dispersing dye of the heat transfer sheet into the layer transferred of the transfer medium. Then on that occasion, covalent bonding is generated by reacting the active hydrogen group in the layer transferred and the reactive group in the reactive dispersing dye on each other and the dye is fixed completely within the layer transferred.
