PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer tube for a heat exchanger capable of configuring a heat exchanger compactly.SOLUTION: A heat transfer tube 11 for a heat exchanger includes: an outer tube 13; a plurality of inner tubes 15 which are inserted in the outer tube 13 and in which distance between mutual axis lines is arranged to be equal in an axis line orthogonal cross section; a first coil 17 in which at least one portion is fixed at an outer tube inner peripheral surface 21 and in which the plurality of inner tubes 15 are inserted inside; a second coil 19 in which at least one portion is fixed at each inner tube inner peripheral surface 23; a flow passage cross sectional area S1 of a first flow passage 25 configured by the inside of the outer tube 13 and the outside of the inner tube 15; and a flow passage cross sectional area S2 of a second flow passage 27 which is configured by summing up the flow passage cross sectional areas of each of the inner tubes 15 and in which the ratio with the flow passage cross sectional area S1 is S1:S2=1:2-2:1.
