To provide a heat transfer tube removing device which effectively relaxes mechanical constraint stress at the heat transfer tube expansion section of the heat exchanger fixed by expansion, by adding shrinkage strain by heating, and easily removing the heat transfer tubes.
The tube removal device applies mechanical constraint stress and removes the heat transfer tube 2 from the heat exchanger in a structure where the heat transfer tube 2 is fixed by partially expanding the heat transfer tube 2 to a tube plate 1 of the heat exchanger by hydraulic pressure or rolling. The heat transfer tube removing device comprises: at least a heating torch 10 for heating the inner wall surface of the fixed heat transfer tube 2 by applying constraint stress to the heat transfer tube 2 to a high temperature to the extent where the inner wall surface is not melted, and applying only shrinkage strain to relax the constraint stress; and control equipment 12 for adjusting rotary speed of the heating torch 10 along the inner wall surface, and the travelling speed in an axial direction.
