Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treating oil composition imparted with rust preventability without deteriorating its quenching hardening performance and the brightness of an object to be treated.
SOLUTION: This heat treating oil composition is the one in which mineral oil in which %CA by a ring analysis (n-d-m method) is 2 to 15 and the bromine number is 5 to 50 g/100 g and contg., by weight, 50 ppm to 2% sulfur is used as base oil, and this base oil is blended with, by the standard of the total content of the composition, (a) a phosphate compd. by 0.01 to 5 wt.% and (b) an alkenyl succinimide compd. or alkyl succinimide compd. or the boron adduct thereof by 0.5 to 10 wt.% or (c) at least one kind selected from the salicylate, phenate and sulfonate of alkaline-earth metals by 0.5 to 10 wt.%.
