Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a heat treatment furnace for a graphite-type refractory, a heat treatment method and a controlling method thereof, capable of uniformly heating or cooling a large-sized graphite-type refractory, moreover reducing the heating or cooling time and achieving energy-saving.

CONSTITUTION: A circulation fan 4 is disposed in a heating gas system of a heat treatment furnace 1, and a gas circulation system is formed in the furnace by the fan. The heat treatment furnace has a main burner 3 for feeding neutral- or weak-reducing combustion heated gas as a temperature-rise heat source to the circulating gas and is further provided with a heat exchanger 5 for cooling, an exhaust gas treatment furnace 6, a program controller 13 and a sequencer 16. An object W to be heat-treated is heated or cooled by the circulating gas in the furnace 1, and, on the other hand, flammable gas and the like evolved from the object W are burned and treated in the exhaust gas treatment furnace 6. All of these treatments are automatically controlled by a control signal from the program controller 13.
