To provide a heat treatment system provided with a drier, and its operating method preventing damage and ignition of the drier when operation is stopped, and capable of safely carrying out a stopping process without causing malfunction even in other apparatuses such as a heat exchanger provided in drier subsequent stages.
In the heat treatment system provided with the drier 1, the heat exchanger 4 is connected to a drying exhaust gas outlet side of the drier 1 via a drying exhaust gas exhaust line 32, a combustion furnace 3 burning drying exhaust gas to generate combustion gas is connected to a drier inlet side via a combustion gas supply line 35, and heat exchange is carried out between drying exhaust gas of a low temperature side and drying exhaust gas of a high temperature side in the heat exchanger 4. It is composed such that a cutoff damper 41 closed when the drier 1 is stopped is provided on the drying exhaust gas exhaust line 32, and an inert gas supply means for supplying inert gas when the drier 1 is stopped is provided on the combustion gas supply line 35.
