Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating apparatus for internal combustion engine capable of performing a fast heating of a heated object kept under a low temperature when the internal combustion engine is started in operation, rapidly eliminating the low temperature state, and thereby improving starting characteristic of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A heating device for an internal combustion engine in accordance with this invention is used for heating a device constituting the internal combustion engine and a prescribed object [for example, fuel in a fuel injection valve 5] that is at least one of fluid media used at the device by a heater 2. This heating device includes a voltage increasing circuit 6 for increasing a voltage VBAT of a battery 1. When it is determined that the heated object is kept at a prescribed low temperature at the time of starting the internal combustion engine, heating control is carried out [a step 7 in FIG.2]. This heating control causes the voltage increasing circuit 6 to perform a voltage increasing operation [a step 23 in FIG.3] and at the same time causes the increased voltage VBST to be applied to the heater 2 [a step 28], thereby the heated object is rapidly heated by the heater 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
