To provide a heating arrangement of a metal strip excellent in uniformity of temperature in strip widthwise direction, of which degradation in wrinkle shape of a metal strip is reduced even with a wider metal strip, and the upper limit of line speed is relaxed which is limited by magnetic saturation of a ferrite core with expanded range of practicability.
The heating arrangement of a metal strip comprises a single turn induction heating coil 2 arranged with a metal strip in-between, and a magnetic field diffusion preventing coil 3. A first ferrite core 4' is provided on the outer periphery of the single turn induction heating coil 2 except for the surface facing the metal strip. A second ferrite core 4 is so provided to the outer periphery of the magnetic field diffusion preventing coil, installed on one surface of the metal strip except for the surface facing the metal strip as to contact the first ferrite core 4'. The front stage of the single turn induction heating coil 2 is provided with either a solenoid induction heating coil 1, a contact type electrifying heating roll, or a combustion heating furnace.
