To provide a heating cooker preventing uneven heating in microwave heating and having high quality of a heated object after heating.
The heating cooker comprises a heating chamber 11 enclosing the heated object (not shown in the figure); a microwave oven 13 generating microwave for heating the cooking object and radiating the microwave into the heating chamber 11; a steam supply means 16 for supplying steam into the heating chamber 11; and a control means (not shown in the figure) for controlling the microwave oven 13 and the steam supply means 16. After supplying steam into the heating chamber 11 up to a predetermined steam filled degree by the steam supply means 16, the steam supply quantity is reduced, or the supply of steam is stopped to drive the microwave oven 13 with maximum power. According to the steam filled degree, microwave distribution different from the case of only air can be generated in the heating chamber 11. The uneven heating of the heated object can thereby be prevented, and a heating time can be shortened.
