Abstract:
A heating device comprises a passive element, a relay, a relay drive unit, and a control unit. The relay is connected to the passive element in series. The relay drive unit supplies the relay with an activation current for transitioning the relay to a set state and a current that is smaller than the activation current. The control unit is configured so as to control the relay drive unit so that the current smaller than the activation current is supplied to the relay before transitioning the relay to the set state. According to this embodiment, it is possible to reduce the operating sound of relay contacts in addition to having reliable switching operation and reducing the amount of heat generated in a relay used in a heating device.
