To provide a heating device for a vehicle capable of performing heating in response to switching of a driving system without using a check valve, thereby, capable of retaining heating ability to a constant level and preventing cost increase.
The heating device for the vehicle is provided with a heater core 2 making cooling water of an engine 1 as a heat source; a main flow passage 3 circulated with cooling water between the engine 1 and the heater core 2; a by-pass flow passage 9 connected to the main flow passage 3 such that an entrance 9a for cooling water is branched from the main flow passage 3 and an exit 9b is merged with the main flow passage 3; an engine side pump 5 for circulating cooling water to the main flow passage by driving of the engine 1; and an electric heater side pump 10 for feeding cooling water to the heater core 2. The heater side pump 10 is arranged at any one of the by-pass flow passage 9 or the corresponding portion 3a to the main flow passage 3 in the by-pass flow passage 9. A diverter valve 11 for switching a flow of cooling water between the main flow passage 3 and the by-pass flow passage 9 interlocking with switching of driving and stopping of the heater side pump 10 is provided on a branched portion of the main flow passage 3 and the by-pass flow passage 9.
