To provide a heating device capable of attaining high accuracy temperature control and workpiece positioning with simple constitution.
The workpiece 2 fed into a heating furnace 3 is positioned by a positioning mechanism 37 while being attended with displacement of a rotating member 22, and the rotating member 22 brings a temperature sensor 30 into contact with the workpiece 2 to confirm positioning based on the temperature of the workpiece 2 detected by the temperature sensor 30. After positioning of the workpiece 2 is confirmed, the temperature of the workpiece 2 detected by the temperature sensor 30 brought into contact with the workpiece 2 is used for controlling a heater 10 for heating. Heat treatment to the workpiece 2 can be attained with high accuracy because of using the temperature of the workpiece 2 whose positioning is confirmed, and the temperature obtained by the temperature sensor 30 brought into contact with the workpiece 2.
