To uniformly raise the temp. of the full surface of a heating roller up to a set temp., in a short time, to shorten a waiting time for printing and to reduce power consumption by forming a heat generating layer on the inner periphery of a hollow cylindrical substrate having a small heat capacity.
The hollow cylindrical substrate 2 is made of hollow cylindrical aluminum whose thickness is about 0.4 mm for instance and a fluororesin mold- released layer whose thickness is 5-30 μm, which covers the hollow cylindrical substrate 2 is provided on the outer periphery of the aluminum substrate. Then, an insulated layer and the heat generating layer as an electric resistor are laminated on the inner periphery of the substrate 2. Further, a power supplying mechanism 5 is force-fitted to the surface of the heat generating layer, thereinside. The power supplying mechanism 5 is provided with a receiving electrode 7 consisting of an aluminum disk-like receiving electrode main body 7a and a holding member 7b which is for supporting the main body 7a, fixed on the heat generating layer on the inner periphery of the substrate 2 and made of an insulating material such as thermopolyimide resin, with one end formed to a flange shape.
