PURPOSE: To enable manufacture of a product having good surface quality by arranging holes for charging moisture in to atmosphere in a furnace to the furnace body wall.
CONSTITUTION: A hot rolling slab 3 is heated by using a heat furnace. The moisture charging holes 4 are arranged to the furnace wall in each interval between plural burners 2 in the furnace body 1, and by using the moisture charging hole 4, the moisture is supplied into the atmosphere in the furnace. The moisture is turned into steam and water atomizing nozzles are arranged in the moisture charging holes 4. By this method, as the atmosphere in the furnace can be made to the suitable heat atmospheric dew point according to the heating condition, casting defect on the slab surface layer caused by a continuous caster can be removed as scale in the heating furnace.
