To provide a heating furnace having formed therein a combustion space which is annular in a section of the horizontal direction, capable of reducing the dispersion of temperatures of the combustion space with respect to the vertical direction and lessening an installation area of the heating furnace.
The heating furnace 6 arranges a plurality of an exhaust heat self-recovery burner 1, and forms therein the combustion space 61 which is annular in the section of the horizontal direction W. In the combustion space 61, the length L1 of the horizontal direction W is longer than the length L2 of the vertical direction H. The exhaust heat self-recovery burners 1, each of which is provided with a burner body 2 attached to an outer surface 602 of a ceiling section 601 of the heating furnace 6, and a burning cylinder 4 protrudingly disposed in the combustion space 61, are arranged correspondingly at a plurality of locations with respect to an annular direction of the annular combustion space 61. The combustion cylinder 4 is configured to eject a combustion gas G1 from a lower end portion 41 thereof to the combustion space 61, and a leading end 411 of the lower end portion 41 is located below an intermediate position of the combustion space 61 with respect to the vertical direction H.
