Abstract:
To provide a heating furnace in which the amount of fluorine remaining in a tantalum oxide after burning can be sufficiently reduced.SOLUTION: A heating furnace 1 is used for burning a metal hydroxide containing fluorine, and detachably includes a calcium silicate plate along at least one wall surface other than a wall surface 4 including a heat generator in the furnace. The arrangement of the calcium silicate plate in the heating furnace enables fluorine desorbing from a heat insulating material 5 or fluorine vaporizing from a tantalum hydroxide to be adsorbed by the calcium silicate plate and thereby sufficiently reduce the amount of fluorine remaining in a tantalum oxide after burning.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
