Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the spheroidization of dendrite in heating the casting material with dendrite to the semisolid condition where the solid phase and the liquid phase are coexistent.
SOLUTION: The casting material in which the difference a-b≥3.6atm.% where (a) is the maximum solid solution quantity of the alloy composition to the base metallic composition, and (b) is the minimum solid solution quantity, and which has dendrite mainly consisting of the base metallic composition, is selected. The heating speed (°C/min) of the casting material between the temperature to present the minimum solid solution quantity (b) and the temperature to present the maximum solid solution quantity (a) is set to satisfy the inequality V≥63-0.8D+0.013D2 when the mean secondary dendrite arm spacing (mean DAS 2) of the dendrite is D(μm).
