Title:
HEATING METHOD OF TANK IN FROZEN SEA VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58188781
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the freezing in a ballast tank by providing a heating tube in a tank of a frozen sea vessel such as an ice-breaker then feeding vaporous anifreeze heating medium to heat the target section with the latent heat of condensation.

CONSTITUTION: It comprises snaked heating tubes 6 arranged at the bottom of the ballast tanks 1 at both sides of hull 2, a heating medium storage tank 7 in the engine room, a supply tube 11 passing through a pump 8, preheater 9 and evaporator 10 then branched to two pipe lines to both conduits 11 connected to both heating pipes 6, then going out of the ballast tank 1 and combined with a conduit communicating to the tank 7. Return hot water after cooling the main engine and steam are employed respectively in said preheater 9 and evaporator 10 for heat exchange. The ballast tank 1 is heated by the latent heat of condensation of the heating medium to prevent the considerable freezing.
