Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a heating roller resisting the high temperature of 200°C or higher and excellent in the uniformity of temperature distribution and heat efficiency by providing an alumite layer excellent in a far infrared radiation characteristic on the inner surface of base material formed of an alluminum alloy of specific composition.
CONSTITUTION: A heating roller 6 is formed of base material 3 made of an alluminum alloy of a composition containing 0.3-4.3wt.% of Mn and the rest being Al and unavoidable impurity, with an intermetallic compound between Mn and Al dispersedly deposited; and an alumite layer 4 excellent in a far infrared radiation characteristic provided on the inner surface of the base material 3. In order to obtain the heating roller 6 excellent in the far infrared radiation characteristic, the block-shape or powder-shape Al-Mn alloy is added into a molten metal and then casted by a continuous casting device, for instance. Afterwards, heat treatment is applied thereto, and anodization treatment is further applied using a normal porous group sulfuric acid electrolyte. Porous black alumite excellent in the infrared radiation characteristic is thus formed on the surface of the alluminum alloy material.
