PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal heat generation of a heat generator of a toilet seat by a method wherein a detecting part consisting of an electrically insulating fragile tape and an electrically conductive paint printed on the tape and a crack sensor which is provided with an electrode to supply slight current to both ends are attached in the vicinity of an inner and an outer periphery of the toilet seat.
CONSTITUTION: A toilet seat 1 is injection molded with a resin material composed of ABS resin incorporated with an electrically conductive filler (carbon black). An electrode 5 and a lead wire 6 are connected to the toilet seat 1. In the crack sensor 4, an electrically conductive paint 2 is printed on an inorganic filler filled PVC tape 3 of less than 1% of break elongation, in 1.5mm in the width, 1000mm in the length and 30μm in the thick, and an electrode 7 is provided for supplying minute current to the both ends. The crack sensor is bonded to a surrounding part of a heating toilet seat 1. In this constitution, when a thin paint film is cut off partially by a crack and the minute current is not supplied, power supply to the heat generator of the toilet seat is interrupted, whereby abnormal heat generation of the toilet seat can be prevented.
