Abstract:

To provide a heavy metal elution reducing material that can reduce the elution of heavy metal while permitting simultaneously easy determination on whether the heavy metal elution reducing material is uniformly mixed in soil after mixed in contaminated soil.

A heavy metal elution reducing material contains a light-burned product obtained by lightly burning a mineral containing magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) as main components, the light-burned product containing MgCO3, CaCO3, and MgCxOy (wherein 0<x≤1 and 0<y<3 are satisfied) produced by decarbonating the MgCO3. The heavy metal elution reducing material further contains at least one element selected from a group consisting of germanium, silver, palladium, bromine and gallium.
