Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably secure chase cutting accuracy by assuring sliding-contact a guide surface with a tooth surface of a material to be cut while preventing a guide blade from cutting the guide surface of the tooth surface in a tooth thickness increase blade.SOLUTION: A plurality of cutting edges spirally arranged on the outer periphery of a broach body 1 include a plurality fo outer-diameter increase blades and a plurality of tooth thickness increase blades 6. Each of the tooth thickness increase blades 6 is provided with: a rake face 11 directed in a tool feeding direction F; a flank 12 directed to one side or the other side in a peripheral direction; a cutting blade 13 that forms an intersection ridge line of the rake face 11 and the flank 12; a guide surface 14 directed to a side opposed to the flank 12 in the peripheral direction; and a guide blade 15 that forms an intersection ridge line of the rake face 11 and the guide surface 14. In a side view of the broach body 1, the guide surface 14 inclines closer to a virtual helical winding wire H1 that is arranged oppositely to the guide surface 14 and that extends in the arranging direction of the outer diameter increase blade as it is more away from the guide blade 15 over the full length thereof with the helical wire H1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
