PURPOSE: To prevent production of crosstalk by selecting a winding angle of a magnetic tape onto a rotary drum and a horizontal angle of an interval between write head and a reproduction head with respect to the center shaft of the rotary drum so as to allow them to satisfy a specific condition, thereby devising it so that the reading is implemented after the writing is finished.

CONSTITUTION: Let the horizontal angle between 1st and 2nd write heads W1, W2 with respect to the center shaft of a rotary drum 9 be θ1, let the horizontal angle between 2nd write head W2 and the 1st reproduction head R1 with respect to the center shaft of the rotary drum 9 be θ2, and let the horizontal angle between 1st and 2nd reproduction heads R1, R2 with respect to the center shaft of the rotary drum 9 be θ3, then let the winding angle of a magnetic tape on the rotary drum 9 be α, and let the speed of revolutions of the rotary drum in one cycle at the recording be (n) (in is an integer of ≥2), then the relation of α≤θ1, α≤θ2, α≤θ3, θ1+θ2+θ3≤360°×n-α, θ1=θ3=180° is to be satisfied. Thus, even when the rotary drum with a small diameter is used, the helical scan type recorder for a magnetic tape without corsstalk is obtained.
