Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrict the reduction of a rotating speed of an engine and a main rotor without causing overspeed by predicting the reduced speed of the main rotor of a helicopter and the reengagement of the engine with the main rotor at the end of auto-rotation operation of a different type.

CONSTITUTION: An engine 22 which rotates a main rotor 10 and a tail rotor 24 via a gear box 14, a clutch 18 or others is formed as a free turbine gas engine, wherein a fuel is supplied from a fuel control 52 to its burner 48 via a fuel line 50. In this case, a fuel control 52 detects a differential value between a rotor speed signal showing the rotating speed of the rotor and an engine speed signal to output a differential signal. It includes a plurality of schedules for supplying a fuel control signal to one selected out of a plurality of fuel increase instructing components determined at a value for the differential signal by a function corresponding to a value for a rotor acceleration signal to predict the reduction of the rotor speed.
