To provide a hemming die apparatus for making a moving locus of an integrated punch at hemming work the shortest locus even in constitution in which a prehemming punch and a main hemming punch are integrated.
The edge part 9a of a skin panel 9 is preliminarily bent by lowering a step bending punch 5 with a vertically driving hydraulic cylinder 2 and bringing the prehemming punch part 5a of the step bending punch 5 into press-contact with this edge part 9a. At approximately the same time as the completion of this preliminary bending, by inward rotating the step bending punch 5 after outward rotating it once with a rotationally driving hydraulic cylinder 6 which is driven in accordance with rotation time detected with a vertical stroke detecting sensor 10 and pressurizing the edge part 9a of the skin panel 9 with the upside 5c of the main hemming punch part 5b, the main bending of this edge part 9a is performed.
