This heptafluorocyclopentane composition contains 1,1,2,2,3,3,4- heptafluorocyclopentane and a 4-5C linear ketones and/or a 6-7C aromatic hydrocarbons. The composition is recovered by distilling the used composition containing polluted substances in a single distillation method without a large variation of a component ratio before and after the distillation.
