PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound being characterized by a carbon atom at the 4-position, having immunological enhancing action and recovering action on thrombocytopenia, useful as a preventive/a therapeutic agent for hypoleukocytemia by chemotherapy of cancer, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is shown by formula I [R1 and R2 are each an acyl; R3, R4, R6 and R7 are each H or a (substituted) alkyl; R5 is H, a (substituted) alkyl, a (protected) OH or a (protected) amino; X is carbonyl or sulfonyl; Y is an amino acid sequence which may be linked through a sulfonic acid amide bond] such as 4-[6,7-bis(palmitoyloxy]heptanoylamino]benzoyl-L- glutamic acid di-t-butyl ester, etc. The compound, for example, is obtained by acylating or carbamoylating a compound of formula II or its salt with a compound of the formula R-Z (R is same as R1; Z is a halogen).
