PURPOSE: The titled composition, containing a mixture of a thiolcarbamate type compound with a pyrazole type compound as an active constituent, capable of controlling annual weeds, e.g. barnyard grass, and perennial weeds, e.g. Japanese ribbon wapato, damaging rice plants in a small amount at the same time, and having high safety for paddy rice.
CONSTITUTION: A herbicidal composition, containing a mixture prepared by incorporating a thiolcarbamate type compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are H or CH3; n is an integer 2W12) or formula II (m is an integer 4W10) which is a nonhormonal migrative herbicide and has improved inhibitory action on gramineous weeds by the treatment in the young bud period with a pyrazole type compound of formula III [X is formula IV (R3 is H, halogen or lower alkyl) or formula V; Y is formula VI or VII] which is a nonhormonal absorbable and migrative herbicide and has improved controlling effects particularly on Japanese ribbon wapato multiplying in a warm land at 0.5W2.0 weight ratio between the compound of formula I or II and the compound of formula III as an active constituent. The amount to be applied is preferably 350W800g/10 areas active constituent.
