PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new preparation having excellent dispersibility in water, comprising a granulated material of a sulfonylurea-based herbicide, fine powder of mineral substance and paraffin wax, a starch, a solid acid, a (hydrogen)carbonate of an alkali (alkaline earth) metal and a surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: A sulfonylurea-based herbicide such as bensulfuron-methyl is uniformly blended with fine powder of mineral substance in heated and melted paraffin wax solid at normal temperature and granulated to give a fine granulated material. A starch or its derivative is mixed with a solid acid such as citric acid, a carbonate or a hydrogencarbonate of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal such as anhydrous sodium carbonate and a surfactant such as magnesium stearate and ground to give a mixture. The concentration is blended with the granulated material and compression molded to give a herbicidal solid preparation for paddy fields. The new preparation has advantage of readily being thrown and applied from a levee of paddy field. Since the preparation has excellent dispersibility in water, high herbicidal effects are obtained.
