Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new derivative which has herbicidal activity as well as preferable physical and chemical properties, higher selectivity and lower durability.
CONSTITUTION: The derivative of formula I (R1 is H, a halogen, 1-4C alkoxy or the like; R2 is H, a 1-3C alkyl or the like; R3 is a 1-6C alkyl, 3-6C alkenyl or the like; R4, R5 are each a 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or the like; X is O or S; E is methine or N) and its salt, e.g. 3-ethoxymethyl-1-(2- methoxycarbonylphenylsulfonyl)-3-(4-methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)urea. The compound of the formula I is obtained by allowing a compound of formula II to react with a compound of formula III in an inert organic solvent preferably at 20-30°C.
