Abstract:

PURPOSE: A herbicide composition, obtained by blending a novel aminomethylenediphosphonic acid with N-phosphonomethylglycine, capable of killing completely perennial weeds as well as annular weeds in its small amounts by the synergistic action of both the components of the composition.

CONSTITUTION: A herbicide composition comprising N-[2-(3-methylpyridyl)] aminomethylenediphosphonic acid (NP compound) shown by the formula I or its salt and N-phosphonomethylglycine (PG compound) shown by the formula II or its salt. 0.1W300g of NP compound and 0.1W200g of PG compound per are sprayed uniformly on the stalks and leaves of weeds. One component only of the composition has difficulty individually in destroying the part on the ground of perennial weeds, e.g., a mugwort, a dandelion, but the composition can kill completely the part and prevent them utterly from reviving.
