To provide a hermetic compressor supplying the suitable flow rate of a lubricant to a sliding portion of a compressed part according to the rotational frequency of a motor, ensuring the oil surface level of an oil pump chamber, and improving reliability.
A discharge hole 17, orthogonal to a lubricant transporting passage 8 and communicating the lubricant transporting passage 8 and a motor chamber, is drilled on a shaft 9. A valve element 19 is disposed in the discharge hole 17 so as to be moved by elastic force of an elastic member 18, and a through-hole 20a communicating the discharge hole 17 and the motor chamber is formed on the outer periphery of the shaft 9, and a valve retainer 20 retaining the valve element 19 is provided. When the rotational frequency of the shaft 19 is low, the valve element 19 is moved in a first direction by the elastic force of the elastic member 18 to close the discharge hole 17, and when the rotational frequency is high, the valve element 19 is moved in a second direction by centrifugal force against the elastic force of the elastic member 18 to open the discharge hole 17.
