To solve problems wherein gas-liquid separation effect of refrigerant gas and oil is reduced and amount of oil discharge into refrigerating cycle is increased in a hermetic compressor restraining flow of refrigerant gas and reducing guidance capability in stator and rotor parts of an electric motor depending on a configuration around the electric motor.
A rotor passage 36 for connecting a rotor upper part chamber 33 with a rotor lower part chamber 35 is provided in a rotor 3b, and a refrigerant gas guide cup 82 provided with a refrigerant gas guide 83 whose tip part is formed by a downward facing plate is provided in an upper part of a rotor 3a. Guidance of refrigerant gas 27 in an upper part of the rotor 3b of the electric motor 3 into the rotor passage 36 is improved by this configuration to increase gas-liquid separation effect in the rotor.
