To provide a hermetic compressor enabling useless vibration from occurring by restricting the path of a balance weight and the controllability of the movement of the center of gravity thereof to be improved.
This hermetic compressor 100 includes the balance weight 7 attached to the bottom end of a rotor 5 through a guide mechanism 10, an elliptic cam mechanism 8 installed in a part of the outer periphery of a drive shaft bearing 4, and a spring 9 which presses the balance weight 7 against the cam surface 8a of the cam mechanism 8. A variation in the torque of a compression mechanism eccentric part 2 is suppressed by changing the position of the center of gravity of the balance weight 7 according to the rotating angle of the rotor 5.
