To provide a hermetic compressor avoiding a reverse flow of oil when the compressor is stopped.

A compression mechanism section 4 is arranged at a position below a gas storage space 14 in the inside of a hermetic container 3. An oil supply passage 11 supplies oil to sliding parts of the compression mechanism section 4 in the gas storage space 14 and a compression space 24 from an oil reservoir 32. The oil supply passage 11 provides connection between the gas storage space 14 and a second space 26 on the back side of a piston with respect to an intake chamber 24. A valve 41 is arranged at an inflow port 11a which is the opening of the oil supply passage 11 on an oil reservoir 32 side. The valve 41 opens and closes the inflow port 11a by opening upon reception of centrifugal force generated when a rotating shaft 6 of the compression mechanism section 4 rotates and by closing when not receiving the centrifugal force. The valve 41, when opened, provides connection between the oil reservoir 32 and the oil supply passage 11 and when closed, does not provide connection between the oil reservoir 32 and the oil supply passage 11.
