To provide a hermetic compressor having high efficiency and reliability, in which an amount of lubricant supplied to a piston is increased to improve sealability between the piston and a cylinder.
A downward-inclined oil groove 132 is provided toward the cylinder 117 or a semi-circular notch 126 in the inner circumferential surface of the crankshaft of a block 115. The lubricant 107, which is discharged from the upper end of a connection hole 113 or a lubricant discharge hole 114 and dispersed to the oil groove 132 or the block 115 above the oil groove 132, is supplied from the oil groove 132 to the cylinder 117 or the semi-circular notch 126. This improves the sealability between the piston 119 and the cylinder 117, and secures high efficiency and reliability by cooling of the piston 119.
