To provide a hermetic electric compressor, simply preventing contact and short-circuit between liquid refrigerant and a conducting terminal portion 48 even in the case of the raising liquid level of the liquid refrigerant flowing therein.
The hermetic electric compressor 100 comprises a sealed container 10 which stores a compressor part 20, an electric motor part 30 and a connection part 40 consisting of the conducting terminal portion 48 and a terminal case 42. The terminal case 42 is fixed to the inner wall of the sealed container 10 with air tightness, and a terminal case hole 49 communicated with the inside of the sealed container 10 and opened with an area not larger than a preset micro area is formed in a position a preset length downward from a position where the conducting terminal portion 48 is arranged. Thus, even when the liquid level of the liquid refrigerant flowing into the sealed container 10 gets closer to the terminal case 42, the entry of the liquid refrigerant into the terminal case 42 is prevented by atmospheric pressure in the terminal case 42, which simply prevents the contact and short-circuit between the liquid refrigerant and the conducting terminal portion 48.
