EXAMPLE: 4-Dodecyl-5-methyl-3-morpholinone.
USE: A medicine and quasi-drug, agricultural chemical, insecticide, etc., capable of enhancing permeability or penetrability of chemicals and having improved enhancing action on permeability and penetrability of the chemicals into biomembranes, extremely weak local irritancy, systemic toxicity, etc., to the biomembranes as well as high safety.
PREPARATION: For example, a compound expressed by formula II is reacted in the presence of an alkali catalyst, etc., in an inert solvent, as necessary, in N2 atmosphere to form an intermediate expressed by formula III (M is alkali metal ion), which is then reacted with a compound expressed by formula IV (X is halogen, mesyl, etc.) to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
